Technical Specifications

A highly accurate and powerful system for testing, measuring and calibrating built into a single compact portable instrument. The indicators-simulators MicroCal family are a multifunction instruments designed to meet, in a modern and practical way, the needs of instrumentation engineers, both in laboratory and fleld work. Accurate, compact, rugged, easy to use; the ideal solution for measuring and simulating: millivolts, volts, milliamperes, ohms, thermocouples & resistance thermometers. MicroCal has been developed using the most advanced microprocessor technology to provide high accuracy on extended ranges and a powerful operating flexibility.

  • The modular firmware includes the algorithms of thermocouples and resistance thermometers in accordance with IEC, DIN and JIS standards. IPTS68 and ITS90 linearization are memory stored and can be selected through the keyboard.
  • The simulation-measurement of resistance and temperature with resistance thermometers uses a special proprietary active circuit (Patent 206327).
  • A unique internal automatic Rj compensation system allows the MicroCal to provide accurate input and output readings in operating conditions with a temperature range from -5캜 to +50캜 (+23캟 to +122캟). Further, external compensation is available with temperature adjustable from -50캜 to +100캜 (-58캟 to +212캟).
  • Two thick film membrane "slide wires" (patent pending) are used in palm-top calibrators to set the simulated signal value.
  • Measured or simulated values are indicated on a high quality LCD dot matrix display which provides good contrast even in poor lighting conditions.
  • The case, made in shock-resistant ABS, is ergonomically designed for easy practical use.
  • The instrument is powered by Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and an external battery charger is supplied as a standard accessory.

The MicroCal 1 I.S. (Intrinsic Safety) is an instrument designed to satisfy the engineers¡¯ needs both in laboratory and on field work. With its high accuracy (?.03% of reading), compactness and user friendly operative mode, it¡¯s the best solution for measuring and simulating: millivolts, volts, milliamperes, ohms, thermocouples and resistance thermometers. MicroCal 1 I.S. has succesfully met the verifications and tests requirements prescribed by EN 50.014 and EN 50.020 standards with a classification EEx ia IIC T6 CESI, an approved certifying authority of the EEC.

Two channel calibrators

MicroCal 200 is a high accuracy (?.02% or ?.01% of reading) multifunction instrument with two insulated and independent channels, designed to meet the requirements of instrumentation engineers, both in laboratory and in field work. Both input and output electrical parameter readings are indicated on the high contrast backlighted LCD graphic display together with engineering unit, type of sensor or signal, temperature scale, cold junction selection, etc. The selection of the operative mode is made on the keyboard of the MicroCal 200 through dedicated menu-driven procedures. Both channel 1 (out) and channel 2 (in) have the following operative mode capability: mV (200 mV), Volts (20V), mA (50 mA active and passive loop), Ohms (5000W), Frequecy & pulse counter, Thermocouples (type J, K, T, R, S, B, C, G, D, U, L, N, E, F), Resistance thermometers 2,3 & 4 wire connections (Pt 100, Pt 200, Pt 500, Pt 1000, Cu 10, Cu 100, Ni 100, Ni 120).

It¡¯s the ideal solution for measuring and simulating:mV (?100 mV), Volts (?30 in, ?24 out),mA (?50 mA), Ohms (0 to 5000W ), Thermocouples (type J, K, T, R, S, B, C, G, D, U, L, N, E, F), Resistance thermometers (Pt 100, Pt 200, Pt 500, Pt 1000, Cu 10, Cu 100, Ni 100, Ni 120).
